2026 OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector

On the 9th of February 2026, the NOVA BHRE participated in a side session of the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector, entitled From audit to accountability: closing performance gaps through stronger social compliance oversight’.

The panel featured Sonia Duarte Silva (Amfori), Anna Mäenpää (SOK), Edward Mole (BCI Compliance Group), as well as Claire Bright (NOVA BHRE & GRC), and was chaired by Ross Nova (APSCA).

During the session, Claire Bright discussed what makes social audits credible and effective from a legal perspective, and what advice ecosystem actors should consider in order to anticipate emerging laws and regulations.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of integrating workers’ voice mechanisms into auditing processes to ensure risks are identified early and that remediation efforts are effective in practice.
