João Maria Botelho

João Maria Botelho is a second-year student at NOVA School of Law and Research Assistant at NOVA BHRE.

He has a solid interest in Human Rights and Fundamental Rights and has been pursuing training in that field. He had, namely, the chance to attend the Fundamental Rights Forum offered by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, where he gained the direct perception that topics like hate crimes, access to justice, gender, rights of children, social intolerance deserve stronger attention from the academia and the society.

He wants to pursue an international career in Business and Human Rights, because of the major importance of the subject and because his main areas of interest are related to Human Rights, Fundamental Rights, and ESG.

João is currently the project manager of Peer2Peer from the Inclusive Community Forum (NOVA SBE) at NOVA School of Law, which aims to create a more inclusive community

He is also interested in Business, having attended last year’s Summer School on “Sustainable Finance” by the Joint Research Centre and has done some courses regarding themes like Strategic Management by Copenhagen Business School, Financial Markets by Yale, Business Structure and Business Management by London Kings College.”
