Maria Kiseleva is a Research Assistant at NOVA BHRE and a jurist, focusing her activity on the issue of human rights and international relations. She is a member of Amnesty International, being a human rights activist and lecturer assistant.

Her participation in diverse European projects marked the beginning of her later career. She holds a Master’s degree in International and European Law by Coimbra University, and has concluded a diplomatic internship in the Portuguese Embassy in Angola. In the Master’s dissertation, she explores the possibility of using jurisdiction as a tool to hold transnational enterprises accountable for human rights violations, as well as the latter developments in Business and Human Rights law at the EU and UN level.

She is now specializing in Human Rights at the Ius Gentium Conimbrigae, and participating as a jurist-rapporteur at Observatório dos Direitos Humanos. Recently, she co-founded MYR, an emergently created platform which aims to join various organizations, as well as civil society, in order to provide help to the migrants and refugees in Portugal.
