On the 13th of November 2026, the NOVA BHRE was delighted to welcome the team of the Portuguese OECD National Contact Point on Responsible Business Conduct yesterday for a mock mediation of specific instances involving allegations of non-observance of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct.
This engaging session offered an excellent opportunity to explore practical approaches to special instances related to responsible business conduct and to deepen our understanding of mediation processes under the OECD Guidelines.
Through this exercise, students strengthened key skills in mediation, dialogue facilitation, and problem-solving, learning how to engage impartially between companies and stakeholders such as NGOs, trade unions, or affected communities. They gained practical insight into fostering constructive discussions and working toward mutually agreed solutions in complex business and human rights contexts.
