Seminar “Business in conflict and post-conflict situations: towards a responsible business conduct”

This seminar is organised within the framework of the postdoctoral project led by Laura Íñigo Álvarez funded by FCT (UIDP/00714/2020). In this session, speakers will tackle issues such as human rights red flags for companies in Ukraine, the challenges posed by private military and security companies and the extractive industry, the planning of a responsible exit for business in conflict, as well as transitional justice approaches. Speakers include Olena Uvarova, Jelena Aparac, Jeremy Sarkin, and Riccardo Riva. The presentations will be preceded by the opening speeches of the Dean of NOVA School of Law, Margarida Lima Rego and the Vice-Dean and Director of the NOVA BHRE, Claire Bright. The event will conclude with some final remarks by Laura Íñigo Álvarez and Felipe Pathé Duarte.
